  • Good Morning, Mariners! This is Ms. Pughe welcoming you to the 2019-2020 school year! This year Aptos High celebrates our 50th anniversary! Happy Anniversary, Mariners! As you can see our campus is getting some much needed improvements to our roofs and buildings and our quad! We are an active construction site which means we all need to use common sense and walk throughout our campus with our focus on safety. Your Tutorial teacher will share slides with you regarding locations for you to hang out during break and lunch. They will also share information from the counseling dept. Mariners, this is going to be a GREAT year! We appreciate your patience and support as we prepare to have an ever MORE awesome campus...wait until you see the artist rendering of the quad improvements! Mariners, we're ALL IN, EVERYDAY

  • Good news! We are working with our District leadership and Food & Nutrition Services to add a cafeteria serving area. While the quad is closed, we are working on a lot of different things to reduce some of the congestion near the cafeteria. To that end, our awesome cafeteria staff is adding a food service line in the upper quad. Starting on Monday 8/19, were making the following improvements:

  • Inside of the cafeteria, we will have 2 serving lines

  • At the outside windows, we will have 2 windows open

  • Will have a mixture of all menu items at all points of service except the Upper Quad serving area may have limited set of choices

  • Student photos will be taking place on Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27 in the PAC during PE and Social Studies classes. Please dress professionally, be integrity oriented and lead by example.  These photos are used for identification and transcripts.

  • There will be a Club Rush Informational Meeting in the ASB Room E-103 at lunch TODAY Friday. ALL Club Presidents OR those interested in starting a club must attend. Just a reminder, that even the established clubs must resubmit their Club Packet Paperwork!

  • There will be MANDATORY Homecoming informational meeting on Monday 8/26 during lunch in the library. If you are interested in participating in Homecoming in any way, please come pick up paperwork, ask questions and be the first to find out the Homecoming theme!!

  • Freshmen Class Elections are coming up! If you are interested in running for Freshmen President, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer, please come by E-103 to pick up an Elections Packet. All packets are due in E-103 by Tuesday 8/27.

  • Are you interested in politics or important issues? Do you love speaking and learning to express yourself? Would you like to be part of a fun team of passionate people? Come join the Debate team for an informational meeting at lunch next Monday, August 26th. No experience required!

  • All those interested in running cross country please show up to practice Monday-Friday at 3:15pm in the football bleachers.

  • Aptos Choir invites you to join 7th period choir. Come sing and perform many styles of music. No experience needed. Just request 7th period choir with your counselor. Questions? Talk to Mrs. Ota.

  • Attention all AHS Students: Auditions for the first play of the year “Singin in the Rain” are coming right up! Please stop by the drama room (room t-100) in the PAC to pick up materials and sign up for an audition time. Auditions will take place August 26th and 27th.
