Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 3:00 - 4:00 pm
Wednesdays from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. 
There is no detention on Fridays.

REMINDER TO ALL MARINERS...All absences must be cleared within 72 hours.  Any absences not cleared by then will result in a unexcused absence.


·         There will be a Saturday Academy held this Saturday, October 19th from 9 am - 1 pm.  

·         Attention seniors!  Tomorrow is the last day to make-up your senior portraits.  Schedule your appointment online with Van Zantes.

·         Good Luck to all aspiring higher 10th and 11th graders who will be taking the PSAT tomorrow. .  Please check the AHS website for information regarding the schedule for this week.

·         Attention seniors Wednesday, October 16 The ACCESS Program staff will be in the cafeteria helping with college applications and financial aid applications from 7:30 AM to noon. Please drop in to take advantage of this opportunity.

·         The Rep for Binghampton University (NY) will be visiting our campus on Thursday 10/17 at 9:45am. Where at the CCC I204.Sign Up on Naviance or simply drop in. Absences will be cleared!

·         Students if you need a Student Planner please stop by the Main office to get one.

·         Students don’t forget  AHS 50th Anniversary Mariner Wear (sweatshirts, T-shirt’s and hats!) are being sold today at lunch in the Quad at ASB In a Box!

·         Students ticketing in parking lots is in effect. If you have not already purchased a parking pass please do so. Parking permits are being sold only before school, during lunch and right after school.

·         Seniors, Cap and Gown Packets will be distributed next week. Orders for Last names A-L will be Tuesday October 29th, Orders for last name M-Z will be Wednesday October 30th. Orders will be @ lunch outside E-103.

·         The Interfaith club is packing Christmas shoeboxes full of gifts that will be sent to children living in developing countries and we need your help! If you would like to get involved bring donations of new small toys, school supplies or hygiene products to room E-202. Our deadline is November 15th! Come to room E-202 for more information. 

·         Do you want to improve your community , get your required community service hours, improve your college resume, and have fun? Then join the Interact club, the most well-known high school service organization in the world, and make a difference today! Meetings are Tuesdays at lunch in c-106, snacks are provided.

  • Come to room E-103at the beginning at lunch today for Dream Volunteers meeting! There will be community service opportunities and cookies.

We have a few updates on athletic events and facilities

·         First... the Varsity football game against Gilroy has now been cancelled.... The JV team will still be travelling and will play Gilroy for Gilroy's homecoming game Friday night at 6 pm.

·         2nd... the pool is closed until further notice. Water Polo athletes, please check you emails for Coach Gilbert's updates on games and practices.

·         Finally... the tennis courts are shut down until October 24th for resurfacing. Tennis athletes, you will be practicing at Seascape until the courts are finished. 

·         Big Congratulations to Song Pom. Over the weekend they competed at regionals and represented Aptos very well! In only their 2nd year competing, they placed second to Clovis High School with a final score just 2.0 points below Clovis’s first place score. They qualified for the 2020 U.S.A Spirit Nationals on February 14-16, 2020 in Anaheim, California.

·         This weeks Sids BBQ athlete of the week goes to Junior Cross Country runner Susana Estrada. She placed 1st on Thursday at pinto lake vs rival Santa Cruz. She improved 91 seconds on her previous time just two weeks earlier on the same course. Congrats Susana, come see Mr. Fox for your gift card.

·         Tonight, our girls volleyball team and Varsity tennis team will be traveling to Scotts Valley for league contests. 

·         Our Water Polo team will be traveling to Soquel to take on the knights, and our girls golf will be heading to SLV and playing at Boulder Creek.


Good luck to all of those competing. 




  • Students,do you need community service hours?The Mole and Mariachi festival is in need of volunteers for their September 7th event. For further info see Albert at the main office.

  • Need community service hours? Come to D-105 for Interact Club on Mondays at lunch, we have lots of community service opportunities and free snacks.

  • Want to help clean up your local environment? Join the Surfrider club, meetings are held on Mondays at lunch in Mr. Hueth's room D-107. Come help us beatify our community and get community service hours!

  • ABSENCES MUST BE CLEARED WITHIN 72 HOURS, 5 unexcused absences equals 1 Saturday School. Be sure to check your attendance on a regular basis, if you have 5 or more unexcused absences just attend a Saturday School and sign in. Students are responsible for keeping track of their attendance.
